The anatomy of weakness

The anatomy of weakness

  • Post Author:

A recent incident set me thinking about things that have no antidotes. Indulge in them if you have the courage to see them wreak havoc!! These are the infallible tools of the weak.

The four main ones are –

1.Stupidity

2.Suspicion

3. Insecurity

4. Appeasement

  1. Stupidity – is a form of obtuse banality. Abysmal Intelligence is stupidity personified. The stupid just refuse to understand or see things from a higher perspective. Everything is obvious and basic. Black and white. No nuances, no subtleties, no faith. In fact, Meena ji often states that sometimes – simple people have the danger to become stupid and clever ones can turn shrewd!
  • Suspicion – it’s all in the head! Suspicion can make a mountain out of a molehill or vice-versa. It all depends upon the analysis undertaken. As they say, we see what we want to see! Everything is assumable and hence possible to an overactive imagination. So, in a perfectly normal situation the most dangerous liaisons become apparent and then starts the mind-chatter and churning. Every semblance of peace and faith go out of the window! The accused needs to prove himself innocent in a biased court, so, the battle is already lost! Best is let those who spy be happy in their conclusions, their demons will get them eventually.
  • Insecurity – when one is insecure, nothing can provide a feeling of security! Security comes from within – from faith in oneself. Independent people are always less insecure, while those who are dependent remain perpetually scared of losing their comfort zone! Fearlessness is not a virtue of the insecure.
  • Appeasement – this one is the best. It is hypocrisy under the garb of sympathy, understanding and adjustment. When faced with any of the above, appeasement works its short-term magic, with long-term harm! It buys peace and a status quo, but never ever sorts the problem. Rather, it increases dependency and then, when the source of succour is removed, leads to suspicion, insecurity and the obvious reactionary stupidity.

We can never make others happy. There will be disgruntled souls around always. So why indulge in the above and make things worse. Live and let live. We only have one life!
