Seeker: What is the significance of the Eclipse in our lives?

Meena ji: Solar Eclipse or any other eclipse is the accuracy of the rhythm of Nature. At an accurate time, the celestial bodies align perfectly and today the Earth Sun and Moon will align…will come under one gravity. The word Eclipse should not be taken as something crippling or negative. Instead we should look at this as a positive event. The Universe teaches us to align with each other when we come together and not to be shadowed by our own ego and limitations.

When one comes under the shadow of another person one should not allow the ego to block one from learning something from this person. Just as one comes under the wings or aura or the eclipse of a guru resulting in gains and evolution for the individual. Similarly, when one comes under the eclipse of someone over powering one should learn from that situation. Or when under the shadow of a younger or a less knowledgeable person one should not allow the ego to interfere and project an air of superiority instead one should humbly either learn something or teach something to that individual.  Like the Earth blocking the Sunlight from reaching the Moon during the Lunar eclipse yet some light reaches the Moon creating a phenomenon called the Blood Moon!  On the other hand when the smaller celestial body, the Moon comes in front of the Sun and blocks the sunlight from reaching the Earth it creates a beautiful phenomenon called the Ring of Fire…which will happen today!

The word eclipse also signifies abandonment…abandonment of old habits, old tuning of the mind. Abandoning or changing from the path of darkness or negativity in the form of depression, ego, blaming or judging others etc. and turning a new leaf.  One should look at the eclipse as one being protected from outside by the shadow so one is able to turn inwards in introspection…just like one gets relief by going inwards under the shadow of an umbrella in the hot sun or rain. Similarly, our journey should be inwards and one should understand the rhythm of nature and feel one with it to bring about a positive change in ourselves and in our environment.
